Forums revamped!

With this update, the bug which caused that png images were randomly not displayed when viewing posts/threads is fixed.

But this was not the reason why the update today took sooooo long.

MediaPortal is growing and expanding, which also has an impact on our forums. Some features have been discussed in one thread over 20+ pages. Other threads got buried in a matter of hours because too many different topics were discussed in one forum.

The team has noticed this progression. So we started to think about a new structure for the forums, which offers us more flexibility and a clear view.

A few minutes ago the forum went online again with the new structure and with new forum/category icons (many thanks Glenn aka grassynoel).

With the new icons we improved the abstraction between the forums and categories. Which means that you now see on the first sight what the forum is about (without reading the title).

So what is left?
During the next days and weeks we, the team, will have to do much "clean up work". This means moving existing recent threads to their new locations and to fix all the spelling mistakes i made when setting up the new forums and writing the descriptions.

I hope you all enjoy the new revamped forum.

regards
chris

Support MediaPortal!

The team works very hard to make sure the community is running the best HTPC-software. We give away MediaPortal for free but hosting and software is not for us.

Care to support our work with a few bucks? We'd really appreciate it!
